Client:
INMAA
Location:
The area was an Israeli laid AP mine field. North of the Sapir Municipality in the Arava Dessert amongst the Arava River which is the border between Israel and Jordan. Total size of the Site – 1,360,000 m².
Background:
As the nearby Arava River over flooded thousands of mines had migrated from their original position and a larger area amongst the riverbanks was contaminated. This Mine field marks the Border between Israel and Jordan, As these countries now enjoy a peace agreement and due to the dangers of the mined area expanding with each flood – MOD has acknowledged these minefields as deemed unnecessary to the country’s defense and therefore were contracted by INMAA for demining.
This was the largest single Demining Site ever contracted in Israel.
Both INMAA and the company were in their infancy when it came to performance of large-scale Demining projects. To bridge this gap the company has formed a JV with G4S and Ronco Consulting Corporation to execute the project.
